With over 30 years of expertise in art collection and advisory, Marleen is recognised by industry peers for her depth of knowledge and her contributions to the art world. Her early focus on Chinese contemporary art in the 1990s evolved into a distinguished portfolio that spans Japanese, Chinese, and Western contemporary art, with works sold through prestigious auction houses, including Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
In Hong Kong, Marleen pioneered 380 DES VOEUX, a dedicated space for public art exhibitions and artist support, fostering a vibrant art community. She went on to establish an artist agency, facilitating exhibitions and career growth for emerging artists. In 2015, Marleen was invited to join the Tate’s Asia Pacific Acquisition Committee, further extending her influence within the global art market. Today, she advises collectors worldwide, drawing from her unique blend of cultural insight, market expertise, and corporate experience in fashion and design. Marleen holds an MA in Liberal Arts from the University of Amsterdam and studied Textural Arts at the Academy of Art.
